Blackwood Stables is a full service thoroughbred training center; offering training, breaking, and layups. Blackwood sits on 280 acres in the heart of Central Kentucky’s famed horse country, nestled in between some of the most storied thoroughbred nurseries.

Breaking

Blackwood provides an excellent environment for recovery and rehabilitation. With ample turn out space, a cold water spa and an aqua tread, and access to some of the worlds best veterinarians, we are able to provide a full range rehabilitation needs.

Blackwood has 6 furlong dirt training track, as well as a turf course. We are accredited with the Kentucky racing commission, allowing the publication of works as and obtaining gate cards.

Blackwood provides a full range of equine rehabilitation care. From stall rest to turn out, we have you covered. Therapy tools include an in ground Aqua-tread, cold water spa, game ready system, vibration plates, and many more. Blackwood is fortunate to be surrounded by some of the best veterinarians in the equine world.
